this popped up on my msn screen this morning. a good reminder that there are many who are not enjoying a merry christmas this year.
it's so disgusting to me how much american dollars contribute to the sex trade. and in a round-about way, even seeing our culture's abuse of sexuality in magazines, movies, and internet sites...do we actually encourage this abuse in some way?
i just don't want these people to be forgotten...

So, what to do?
I recently attended a presentation by a Minnesota group dealing with human trafficking, most of which is for the sex industry. Would you believe that Minn. is 13th in the nation?
Ahna Boyum is thinking of helping victims long term and will visit a ministry in Thailand that works with victims there...I think in April or May.
I'm glad you're a part of getting the word out. Men's ministries can help prevent and reform perpetrators. If we can be more aware, perhaps we'll identify and reach out to victims, but the presenters of the program I saw pointed out they are so often completely controlled by their handlers and it's hard to get to them.
