Devo Day 2: Making Things Right With The Father...

Reference:

Jeremiah 3:19

19 “How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me.”

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Hebrews 12:1

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

1 John 4:16

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

Thoughts:

The point of the cross is what’s on the other side of the cross. It’s a horrid and beautiful gate to something else. By that, though, I actually don’t mean heaven or hell. While important, they are farther down the list than we often think. The atonement for sin restores. It returns us to fellowship with the Father TODAY. A life where we can walk with God and rule. We interact with the Trinity, hear Him tell us who we are, walk forward and change the world. Let’s get real and get moving!!

Reflection:

Is there anything that needs to be brought to the cross so you can walk through to all that’s on the other side? Spend some time with your Father. He’s excited to meet you there. Perhaps you need to share this with a brother or sister in Christ. We are made for the encouragement and support of community!
